Playbooks A working method your team keeps

Transform AI opinions into an action plan.

One to two days. A critical asset. A direction your leadership commits to. Every session is designed to produce strategic actions with clear and deliberate tradeoffs. Disagreements surface and resolve in the room, not months later.

“The team walked away with decisions they could act on immediately,” said Grant Backes, VP of Programming. Our Playbook sessions are designed to move from problems to informed and actionable solutions in short order.

Where capable teams get stuck

The opportunity is visible. The team is capable. What's missing is how to win.

Great users of technology, including AI, consider a specific role or task, as well as how work gets done as a whole. But with dozens of competing priorities, teams get delayed, disorganized, and don't make progress. While every organization is different, we have seen at least three common ways technology adoption and new product development goes wrong:

01
Workgroups lack ownership

Meets monthly. Produces a report. Recommends something be done, but no one owns. The AI opportunity stays open while the market moves.

02
Offsites lack precision

Good energy, general alignment. But the real disagreements were never surfaced, so they resurface later and reopen what looked resolved.

03
Pilots lack a path to impact

Tools are deployed without a clear ROI. The team can show adoption data, but not business outcomes. The rush to act results in uncertainty and waste.

What you'll walk away with

An executable Playbook, mapped to your work, owned by your team.

We don't make facilitation reports. Our sessions get you to an AI investment thesis including a prioritized use-case map with named owners and starting points your leadership team is committed to executing.

Before you ask

A Playbook session can cost between $10K - $50K. We customize each effort based on how much new knowledge is required to be fully confident in a direction and its desired result. A typical timeline is 2 up to 6 weeks from first conversation to session day.

How sessions work

Most of the win come before the event.

The difference between a session that finds and solves disagreements and  one that works around them is what happens in the two weeks before people are in the room. At a high level, we work in three stages:

01 Understand 1–2 weeks before

Stakeholder interviews and background research. We map tensions: competing interests, unspoken assumptions, and questions that will derail the session if they surface unexpectedly. Session design and initial commitments come out of this work.

Case study Playbooks

Twenty-one HR leaders, one session, twenty-one plans.

The Twin Cities SHRM chapter brought together HR leaders who knew AI would reshape their work but had no shared sense of where to begin. The risk in a room like that is a good conversation that changes nothing on Monday.

We ran a simplified Playbook session to map AI capabilities to opportunities in HR, pressure-tested them against each leader's context, and prioritized by leverage. In a few hours, every leader in the room had a personal, executable action.

Several organizations understood which tools to use and how. A few built entirely new tech enabled services, and one built a product.

Each cell is one attendee. Every cell filled — a whole room leaving with a plan, not a maybe.

Investment & scope

A Playbook is the lightest way to work with us. We offer fixed-scope engagement that ends with a plan your team owns. It's often the right first step: if it points toward a Tool or a Product, you'll walk in knowing exactly what to build and why.

Scope depends on the size of the team and the breadth of the opportunity space. We'll scope yours in our conversation.
